Berry nice

Yesterday was a beautiful day in good ol’ Pittsburgh which is a rare occasion during these months. I decided to plant one of my favorite fruits, strawberries (way overly excited)! Here’s what I did…

I grabbed two of these hot pink baskets and two strawberry grow kits from the Tar-jay a.k.a. Target dollar bins. These are Alpine strawberries, yum!

Then I added some straw(long dead grass from the abandoned yard next door 😉 and filled the inside of the basket. This keeps the dirt from spilling out of the holes. I tried a few different things but the straw was the most aesthetically pleasing.

Lastly I filled the container with some soil that was in one of my planter’s from last year and planted the seeds from the grow kit. $2 strawberry plants in cute little baskets, awwww. I also planted a lot of basil for another project I will share later. Happy planting!

About Candy Kisses

I'm an aspiring designer who one day wishes to move to New York and make it big! As of now I work at a restaurant near my apartment in pittsburgh to make ends meet while running a small business called Candy Kiss Couture, on etsy consisting of my designs, and crafts at www.candykisscouture.etsy.com. I love all things beauty, fashion, and glamour as well as all things Art ^.^ Also an interesting tid bit about myself: I love to play dress up, cause I'll never be too old for that! I am fascinated by glitter, shiny things, lace, neon colors, pastel colors, alright colors in general. I guess that's more than enough about me we'll get to know each other as I blog. Thanks for checking my page out.
