Fairy Wings

A friend and I decided to make fairy wings the other day and I wanted to share the cuteness! We used Emilie Autumn’s tutorial which I’ll post at the bottom. We found the supplies at Lowe’s, Michael’s and Walgreens (.50 cent tights work wonders!). I love the way they turned out. I don’t have a picture of hers yet so I’ll just share mine for now. They turned out the perfect size too which I was surprised because I didn’t really think about size when I was making them.

This is when I was using acrylic paint to paint all the pretty designs on the wings. It took a couple layers because the tghts were loosely woven but turned out really pretty.

Details of the holes burned with incense. This s before more layers of paint were added so you can see how multiple layers

were needed.

Before adding ribbons, extra glitter, and sewing on flower and leaves.

The finished wings! I used elastic to hold th wings on instead of the ribbon suggested for comfort purposes and highly recommend it. I love the glitter ribbon and how it matches the glitter outline! Very little came on one spool though >.< Here's the video in case you want to make your own.

About Candy Kisses

I'm an aspiring designer who one day wishes to move to New York and make it big! As of now I work at a restaurant near my apartment in pittsburgh to make ends meet while running a small business called Candy Kiss Couture, on etsy consisting of my designs, and crafts at www.candykisscouture.etsy.com. I love all things beauty, fashion, and glamour as well as all things Art ^.^ Also an interesting tid bit about myself: I love to play dress up, cause I'll never be too old for that! I am fascinated by glitter, shiny things, lace, neon colors, pastel colors, alright colors in general. I guess that's more than enough about me we'll get to know each other as I blog. Thanks for checking my page out.
