Size Matters Part Deux

I did a blog post about a giant crochet rug I found on design sponge not too long ago and have since started the project. Instead of the giant crochet hook I suggested I ended up using my hands instead. Lack of funds usually equals innovation for me hahaha. If you have ever done a t-shrt recon with the crochet loops on it you already know this technique on a smaller scale. I am using tons of t-shirts that friends and myself no longer used. I did cut them using the tutorial I suggested, though I opted for a 5-6 inch width on the strips to make them bulky. Here is what I’ve got so far…

The pattern for t I’m just making up as I go along by comparing to the picture of the original rug. I love how the different colors turned out. I’ll post a picture once I finish it but pre-warning it takes many t-shrts if you make it this bulky but I tried it out and it feels so good on the feet!

About Candy Kisses

I'm an aspiring designer who one day wishes to move to New York and make it big! As of now I work at a restaurant near my apartment in pittsburgh to make ends meet while running a small business called Candy Kiss Couture, on etsy consisting of my designs, and crafts at www.candykisscouture.etsy.com. I love all things beauty, fashion, and glamour as well as all things Art ^.^ Also an interesting tid bit about myself: I love to play dress up, cause I'll never be too old for that! I am fascinated by glitter, shiny things, lace, neon colors, pastel colors, alright colors in general. I guess that's more than enough about me we'll get to know each other as I blog. Thanks for checking my page out.
