Fashion is a Battlefield

I have been really into chain mail lately, especially for everyday wear. I go to a medieval war reenactment that is yearly called Pennsic. Yes, I am a total dork. I always love trying on the chain mail bras and belts they sell there and have always wanted one but they cost upwards of $300! So sadly I do not own any chan mail.

I wanted to share with you two artists who really wow me with their chain mail inspired jewelry work.

The first being Armor Jewelry

These pieces are chain based rather than real chain mail which is why this next designer is my favorite.

These pieces are from Fannie Schiavoni

I’m going to be working on getting supplies together to make my own chain mail jewelry. I’m going to be using oxidized metal since the popular thing seems to be not using it. The oxidized metals come in an array of colors which I think I may just stick with one color rather than a rainbow of colors for a bold pop of color on my outfits I wear them with. If you are interested in making your own chain mail jewelry I found a great site here. I can’t wait till I have money for the supplies. Darn you Christmas shopping and inhibiting my crafting!

About Candy Kisses

I'm an aspiring designer who one day wishes to move to New York and make it big! As of now I work at a restaurant near my apartment in pittsburgh to make ends meet while running a small business called Candy Kiss Couture, on etsy consisting of my designs, and crafts at www.candykisscouture.etsy.com. I love all things beauty, fashion, and glamour as well as all things Art ^.^ Also an interesting tid bit about myself: I love to play dress up, cause I'll never be too old for that! I am fascinated by glitter, shiny things, lace, neon colors, pastel colors, alright colors in general. I guess that's more than enough about me we'll get to know each other as I blog. Thanks for checking my page out.
