I haven’t posted in about a week because I’ve been house/dog sitting about an hour away from my home and there is no internet there D: Just Kidding it’s actually nice getting a break from the internet and just vegging out or crafting. I stopped back home today and thought I’d put a quick post up since I won’t be able to till Sunday.
I watch a lot of youtube make-up gurus and finally found a contest I would really like to enter. I’ve been working on looks with the 180 eye shadow palette I got about two weeks ago in the mail.
I’m only showing the one set of colors because I was smart and took the other picture in my bath towel when you can see right into the mirror (wah wah waaaaahhh). I haven’t been working with makeup as much as I used to so it took a bit of practice and I still haven’t found a look I think is up to par for a contest yet, at least in my book.
The contest asks for the entries to be a mythical theme. I personally have a love of the Hindu deities and think they are perfect for a makeup look considering their elaborate portrayals. One of my favorite of the Hindu goddesses is Sarasvati because she is the godess of creativity. Here is the inspiration picture I chose:
I like this depiction because of the color of the lotus flower and that it incorporates a large color range. Here are two of the looks I attempted. They only have one eye done since they were test runs.
This was my first attempt where I incorporated a cut crease and used a piece of paper to make a sharp edge. I like it but wanted it a bit more theatrical. The lashes weren’t glued on in these so they are kinda falling off hahaha
Sorry about the lighting in these they are both off. It was night so I had no natural lighting. This one I added a different liner technique and added a white liner to make my eyes more open. I changed the color for the cut crease and also changed the brow. I tried doing a lace overlay technique but the crush I was using and the lace did not work out. I may attempt the lace overlay again or do a crown type thing with puffy paint.
Here’s one other look I’m throwing in here as a basic going out look that I also did with the pallet. I was thinking of doing a video tutorial. Let me know what you think of these in the comments ^.^ I’ll post the final look for the contest when I finally decide 😛
